Bruce Schneier on Airport (In)Security

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Bruce Schneier has an excellent blog post today on why the TSA liquid ban won’t prevent another terrorist attack.  Bruce makes so much sense, which is why the bozos in government never listen to him….

Loveland Pass, Continental Divide

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Loveland Pass, Continental Divide, originally uploaded by fgw_three.

It’s hard to believe that it has been a year since we went out to Denver for Havanese Nationals ‘07.

While we were there we took a side trip up to Loveland Pass on the Continental Divide. We did hike up one of the trails a ways on the other side of the pass from where this photo was taken.

The girls ran up the trail like mountain goats. It was hard to breathe for me, but I did not get headaches or anything. It was really fun.

I miss being up there…..

The Prodigal Blogger Returneth

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Wow.

It’s been a long time. Over a year since I posted an entry. Well, that will never do.

I’ve just finished up a site revamp and got the blog hooked up. Nothing really new to say at this point.

Here’s a tip. Firefox 3 Beta 5 released today. Get it here.

More blogging to come. I promise this time…..

Douglas Adams May Have Been Right….42

Caught this via digg. I’m no math whiz, but this is fascinating, and is a good read.

It would seem that 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything (grin)…..

Seed: Prime Numbers Get Hitched

Where does the time go?

Thursday, February 2nd, 2006

Haven’t had much time lately to think about blogging or anything else. Been busy working.

Here’s a few random thoughts I feel like putting out into space.

1. If you’re a C/C++ programmer and want to get better, check out www.cprogramming.com, especially their message boards. If you think you’re pretty good, participate by helping explain things to the newbs. If you’re a newb yourself, most folks in there are pretty cool to you if you don’t seem like you want them to do your homework for you.

2. Hamas got elected the majority in the Palestinian elections. Do you think anyone is more suprised about that than Hamas?

3. The Super Bowl is coming up. I don’t really care who wins. This year, for me, the game will be about the commercials, and the food at the party…..and not necessarily in that order.

4. Only 16 days until pitchers and catchers report.

5. Saw a BMW 645i this morning. Took me a while before I could catch my breath. YOWZA.

Okay, that’s it for now….more when I have more time.

The Comedy of Brian Regan

Sunday, June 19th, 2005

A co-worker of mine turned me on to the comedy of Brian Regan.

If you’re into comedy, check this guy out. Not only is he hilariously funny, capable of taking those little every day situations that we all face and making us laugh our butts off, he’s also very clean. The kids can watch him, and these days that says a lot!

Everyone in the office has become a fan, and a lot of his expressions have entered our lexicon.

Check him out. Here’s a link:Brian Regan

Hello world!

Just installed this WordPress deal — kinda cool. Heard about it from the folks at Core Dump.

I experienced some of the same frustrations with Blogger as well, although I’m a lot newer to blogging, I guess.

If any of you are interested, try it out.
